India’s digital mental healthcare sector continues to attract investor interest. Mental health startup Lissun has raised fresh capital to accelerate growth, strengthen technology, and expand its AI-powered services. The latest investment reflects growing confidence in the company’s mission to make mental healthcare more accessible and personalized across India.
Founded in 2021, Lissun combines digital tools with therapist-led care to provide mental health support for individuals, families, and organizations. The company now plans to use the new funding to expand operations and develop innovative AI-driven solutions.
Lissun Raises Fresh Capital
Lissun recently secured ₹2.77 crore in a funding round backed by existing investors and strategic partners. The round included participation from Rainmatter, India Foundation Fund, and several angel investors. Rainmatter invested nearly ₹2 crore through convertible notes, while other investors contributed through equity investments.
This is the startup’s first funding round in nearly two years. Earlier, the company raised $2.5 million in a Pre-Series A round led by RPSG Capital Ventures. That round also attracted investors such as Multiply Ventures, Atrium Angels, IvyCap Ventures, Rainmatter, and Sucseed Ventures.
As a result of the latest investment, Lissun’s valuation has reportedly increased by around 40%, reaching approximately ₹101 crore. This milestone demonstrates strong investor confidence in the company’s long-term vision and business model.
Investor Confidence Drives Growth
Investor interest in mental healthcare startups has grown rapidly in recent years. Rising awareness of mental wellness and increasing demand for digital healthcare solutions have created favorable market conditions.
Lissun has positioned itself as a hybrid mental healthcare provider. The company collaborates with healthcare organizations, educational institutions, and corporate clients to offer therapy, counseling, and wellness programs. This diversified approach allows the startup to serve multiple customer segments effectively.
Moreover, the company has approved a new employee stock option plan valued at over ₹5 crore. This initiative aims to attract and retain top talent while aligning employees with the company’s long-term growth objectives.
Growing Investor Trust
The continued support from existing investors highlights confidence in Lissun’s strategy. Investors believe the company can scale its services while leveraging technology to improve mental health outcomes.
Additionally, the startup’s focus on AI and child behavioral healthcare differentiates it from many competitors in the mental health ecosystem.
AI and Child Mental Healthcare Expansion
Lissun has made significant investments in artificial intelligence to improve patient care. The company recently acquired US-based startup Being Cares Inc., known for developing the “Google Maps of Mental Health.” The acquisition strengthens Lissun’s ability to offer AI-powered, personalized mental health guidance.
The technology can decode more than 40 emotional and behavioral conditions, including anxiety, depression, burnout, and parenting stress. Furthermore, Lissun plans to adapt the platform to address child-focused conditions such as autism, ADHD, speech delays, and learning disorders.
Building a Child-First Ecosystem
Lissun operates Sunshine by Lissun, a dedicated division focused on developmental and behavioral healthcare for children. The company currently runs around 20 Sunshine centers and plans to expand to more than 200 locations over the next few years.
The company is also enhancing its AI assistant, Ray, which will offer parents real-time guidance, personalized activities, and developmental progress tracking. Consequently, families can access support earlier and receive tailored recommendations throughout their healthcare journey.
Revenue Growth and Market Presence
Lissun has expanded its footprint across India and now operates in more than 40 cities. The platform has delivered over 35,000 therapy sessions and serves hundreds of clients through partnerships with healthcare providers, corporations, and educational institutions.
Financially, the company has shown strong momentum. It reported revenue of ₹5.13 crore in FY25, nearly doubling its earnings from the previous fiscal year. Although losses increased due to investments in expansion and technology, the company continues to prioritize long-term growth and innovation.
Furthermore, Lissun claims to have positively impacted more than 75,000 lives through its mental health programs and therapy services. Its hybrid model combines online accessibility with in-person care, creating a more comprehensive treatment experience.
Future Outlook for Lissun
The future appears promising for Lissun. Demand for mental healthcare services continues to rise, while AI creates new opportunities for personalized care.
With fresh funding, expanding AI capabilities, and a growing network of therapy centers, Lissun is well-positioned to strengthen its leadership in India’s mental health ecosystem. Moreover, its focus on family-centered care and child development could unlock significant growth opportunities in the coming years.
As mental healthcare becomes a national priority, startups like Lissun are shaping a future where technology and human expertise work together to deliver accessible, effective, and compassionate care.
