Centene Corporation has announced that its Hawaii subsidiary ‘Ohana Health Plan has been selected by the Hawaii Department of Human Services’ Med-QUEST Division to continue administering covered services to eligible Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) members for medically necessary medical, behavioral health, and long-term services and supports. According to the Fortune 50 multi-national healthcare enterprise, the new contract is expected to become executive from July 1, 2021. The new contract runs through December 31, 2026 with the option of three 12-month extensions.
- The company said that ‘Ohana Health Plan has served Hawaii residents through the state’s Medicaid program since 2008. Under the new contract, it will continue to provide services for eligible Medicaid recipients in Temporary Assistance for Needy Families; the Children’s Health Insurance Program; Aged, Blind and Disabled; and expansion programs.
- This agreement not only will be a pilot for the positive health outcomes of the Hawaii residents but also increase Centene’s presence across the state. The company’s Medicaid business remains well poised to profit through constant cooperation and the addition of product offerings devised as per the needs of several associations it serves.
