Brought to you by :

Hello Omni Talk Fans! Thank the heavens I am just typing this email today because my voice is currently one part Kathleen Turner in Body Heat and another part Mark Hamill at the end of The Empire Strikes Back -- aka a whiny, throaty combination that I wouldn't even wish on Marc Lore.

With December in full swing, we have some great headlines to share with you today as well as two wonderful podcasts interviews we recorded last week.

Let's start with the headlines . . .

In today's Fast Five:

1.
Dollar General says it plans to expand its up market Popshelf concept to 1,000 stores by 2025. That's an average of 300 new stores over the next 3 years! (Read More)
2.
Walgreens reportedly could be looking to sell off Boots, its UK-based pharmacy chain. (Read More)
3.
A New York hedge fund/activist investor, Engine Capital LP, thinks Kohl's standalone e-commerce business could be worth as much as $12.4 billion. Fun Fact: Kohl's current market value is just under $8.0 billion. (Read More)
4.
Walmart announced plans to build a new "specialty pharmacy of the community" designed specifically for people with HIV/AIDS. The first three will open in Georgia and Florida. (Read More)
5.
And in a move that made Anne giddy with glee alongside frozen enchilada lovers everywhere, Amy's Kitchen plans to build as many as 30 drive through restaurants over the next five years. (Read More)

Be careful out there,

-- Chris, Anne, and the entire Omni Talk team

P.S. We have two exceptional podcasts for you today!

First, the man so cool he only goes by one name -- Bennett of Signifyd -- returns to discuss all the latest fraud statistics he and Signifyd saw coming out of Black Friday and Cyber Monday (click here to listen).

Second, Sezzle's Paul Paradis holds court on where the future of the BNPL trend is headed, and, short answer, it will only get even bigger from here (click here to listen).

P.P.S. I bet the former CEOs of places like Herberger's and Bon-Ton are downright kicking themselves for having just missed the "e-commerce spinoff" trend. Which, if you think about it, highlights just how asinine the whole trend really is.
