In today’s Fast Five, Chris and Anne share what may just be the best podcast on data and AI you will hear all week and, of course, discuss all the top retail headlines coming off the weekend.

Brought to you by :

Hello Omni Talk Fans! Around the time this newsletter hits your inbox, Anne and I will likely be sitting in the famed Schiphol airport in Amsterdam fighting jet lag and downing a few espressos before boarding our flights to Lisbon (or Lisboa, if you listened to last week’s Fast Five Podcast).

Anne and I wanted to give you something special today as we take a much deserved 4-day vacation and a respite from our normal Friday programming.

So we asked 1010data’s Chief Product Officer, Jonah Ellin, to come back for his third time as one of our Omni Talk Spotlight Series guests, and we have to say it just may be one of the best damn interviews we have ever done.

Jonah gave Anne and me both some really big “ah-ha” moments as he discussed why software and AI may be all a retailer needs to understand and manage exceptions related to inventory and pricing in store and why promotional effectiveness may also be the best place to start harnessing their combined power.

The most mind blowing thing about the interview is that it begins to paint the consideration points around the use of robotics and cameras within stores in an entirely different light, potentially negating the need for them entirely.

But don’t just take our word for it.

You can listen to what Jonah had to say by clicking here or on the big image above.
