National Association of Accountable Care Organizations (NAACOS) has declared its 2022 Board of Directors comprising eight seats for single Accountable Care Organizations, six for organizations with several ACOs, one private payer ACO seat, chief executive officer (CEO) Clif Gaus. An election was held in the fall for two open single-ACO representative seats and two open multi-ACO representative seats with the following result:
- Traditional Medicare: The work of the Board of Directors will be crucial as the Joe Biden government strives to accomplish its objective of having traditional Medicare recipients enter into a quality care relationship with a provider by 2030.
- Single ACOs: Single-ACO representatives, who will have a tenure of three years, are Jen Moore, MaineHealth ACO, Rebecca Rohrbach, NOMS ACO
- Multi-ACOs: Travis Broome, Aledade (reelected) and Emily Brower, Trinity Health (reelected) will serve as multi-ACO representatives for three years.
- Board officers: The board officers were appointed are Rob Fields, Mount Sinai Health System (Past-Chair); Debbie Welle-Powell, Essentia Health (Chair); Tony Reed, ChristianaCare (Chair-Elect); Travis Broome, Aledade (Treasurer); Emily Brower, Trinity Health (Secretary); Kim Kauffman, Best Value Healthcare (Member-at-Large). The continuing board members are Tim Gronniger, Caravan Health; Melanie Matthews, MultiCare Connected Care and Physicians of Southwest Washington; Jamie Reedy, Summit Medical Group – New Jersey; Nina Taggart, Lehigh Valley Health; Anthony Valdes, Collaborative Health System; and Clif Gaus, NAACOS president and CEO.
- New members: Travis Broome, Aledade, will remain in the chair position, while the new members of NAACOS Quality Committee are: Maria Alexander, Mount Sinai Health System; Kathy Harris, Banner Health; Mark Gwynne, UNC Health Alliance; Tom Kloos, Atlantic ACO and Optimus Healthcare Partners; Jessica Martensen, Essentia Health; Steven Miracle, Accountable Care Coalition of Georgia; Stephen Nuckolls, Coastal Carolina Quality Care; Kathy Parsons, CentraCare; Melissa Pollock, CHESS; Kelli Todd, UnityPoint Accountable Care; Spenser Weppler, OneCare Vermont ACO.
