Highmark, a national health and wellness organization and the second-largest integrated delivery and financing system in America, on completing its affiliation agreement of Blue Cross and Blue Shield with HealthNow New York, becomes the fourth-largest Blue plan in the nation. This deal has signed a total membership of more than 6 million people under its healthcare radar.
- The Blue Plan arrangement first began in the year 2020 by combining the operations of Blue Cross and Blue Shield and extending the Highmark brand into HealthNow’s 8-county Western New York and 13-County Northeastern Service areas. More than 5.6 million health plan enrollees have been benefited from Highmark’s health plan in Delaware and West Virginia.
- In the months to come the two will be amalgamated into a single entity of Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of Western New York and Highmark Blue Shield of Northeastern New York. This newly affiliated organization and its rebranding will help in enhancing its business expansion to every nook and corner of the nation.
- The deal is a historic merger and it will continue its aim of uplifting the healthcare industry especially the healthcare insurance companies that provide the salaries of doctors and hospitals for furnishing proper medical care to the patients.
