Bright HealthCare, located in Minneapolis, is expanding into Texas, with new plans available in three cities. Individuals and families can purchase plans both on and off the exchange in Houston, Dallas, and Austin.
- Expansion: Texas, which has the third-largest IFP population, is one of the new states, greatly increasing Bright HealthCare’s total addressable market. In places where it already does business, such as Florida, California, Colorado, and North Carolina, the company also revealed an expanded product selection.
- Alignment: “Bright Health Group is the nation’s first fully aligned, technology-enabled, integrated model of care,” said G. Mike Mikan, Bright Health Group President, and CEO. “Our differentiated model is built on alignment between providers, payors, and consumers and is working together to make healthcare simple, personal, and affordable.”
- Sponsorship: Bright HealthCare offers individual and family health plans, as well as Medicare Advantage and employer-sponsored plans, to help clients throughout their lives. These products are based on Integrated Systems of Care in each market, and they make use of Bright Health Group’s patented DocSquad technology, which has consistently produced improved results.
- Alignment: It is built upon the belief that by aligning the best local resources in healthcare delivery with the financing of care they can drive a superior consumer experience, optimize clinical outcomes, reduce systemic waste, and lower costs. “We are excited to play a role in helping to meet the strong demand for personalized, affordable, and accessible healthcare in Texas,” said Meredith Duncan, Texas market president at Bright HealthCare.
- Coverage: “About 20 percent of Texans under 65 lack health insurance coverage, the highest uninsured rate among states, and the COVID-19 pandemic only exacerbated these challenges. Bright HealthCare’s unique model is consumer-focused, built on alignment with our Care Partners, and leverages technology to make health insurance easier and more affordable for consumers” said Meredith
