Healthcare APIs provider Health Gorilla has raised a fund of $15 million in Series B financing led by IA Capital and Nationwide to enhance its healthcare programs all over the US. Sunnyvale, CA-based Health Gorilla was founded in 2014 whose main objective is to streamline the access of Clinical Data with a suite of FHIR based APIs that digital health developers integrate into their products. With this system, it becomes easier for the Health Gorilla network to pull their patient’s personal and medical information from any clinical records system.
- Some of the renowned customers of Heath Gorilla include Virta Health, Heal, K Health, and Dr. Chrono, with whose help the company has expanded its domain beyond the realm of digital health. It has formed new alliances and partnerships with state government organizations and reputable payers and health systems.
- Health Gorilla has an interdisciplinary team of some highly qualified API engineers, data scientists, and either experienced interoperability experts who are well accustomed to simplifying access to clinical data networks enabling better care for the patients. With the new APIs, Health Gorilla will be able to access more into the medical records of the patients, payer to payer data sharing and quality data assessments without any trouble.
- Steve Yskin, CEO and Co-Founder of Health Gorilla, said, “APIs are transforming how healthcare organizations access and exchange clinical data, creating massive efficiency gains across our customer base. This funding round gives us the ability to onboard more digital organization onto our work, while introducing the APIs to a broader set of stakeholder across the healthcare ecosystem”.
- With this new funding, Health Gorilla has plans to optimize its resources and accelerate this business by emerging into insurance, life sciences, and other government organizations.
