National payer and provider Highmark Health has renewed its contract with leading IT and business consulting services company CGI in order to keep its billing services error-free and avoid overpayments. As part of the contract, Highmark will get access to CGI ProperPay solution, which helps check waste, fraud and abuse in healthcare billing and claims.

- Medicare, Medicaid and commercial payers have benefited from collaboration with CGI as its technology has helped them recover at least $3 billion in lost payments. The company, founded in 1976, has its roots spread all over the world with 76,000 consultants and other professionals.
