Humana is expanding its CenterWell primary care business with the opening of seven senior-focused primary care centers in Tennessee this year. The first two locations will open in Tusculum and Murfreesboro. With a commitment to whole-person care, each center will have a team of board-certified physicians, nurses, and social workers, as well as access to clinical pharmacies and behavioral health specialists. The expansion aims to provide comprehensive healthcare to Middle Tennessee seniors and overcome healthcare barriers in underserved communities.
Humana is embarking on an ambitious expansion plan for its CenterWell primary care business, with the announcement of its latest venture. The company will be launching seven senior-focused primary care centers in Tennessee this year, according to Humana. The initial two locations will open their doors on June 28 and 29 in Tusculum and Murfreesboro, respectively.
Earlier this month, Humana celebrated the inauguration of its 250th CenterWell location in Dallas. Alongside its sister brand, Conviva Care Center, Humana currently operates senior-focused primary care clinics in 12 states. The company has set its sights on opening 30 to 50 new locations annually until 2025.
Jason Spector, the market president for Tennessee, expressed his excitement about the expansion, stating, “Our state-of-the-art facilities staffed with board-certified physicians and integrated care teams will provide comprehensive, holistic care. With Murfreesboro and Tusculum already serving patients, we look forward to opening five more centers this year.”
Humana is dedicated to delivering whole-person care, addressing all factors that impact the well-being of patients and the community. Spector added, “I’m eager to extend this care to Middle Tennessee seniors and help overcome healthcare barriers in underserved communities.”
Each CenterWell location will have a team consisting of board-certified physicians, nurses, social workers, and assistants. Additionally, patients will have access to clinical pharmacies, behavioral health specialists, and referral specialists. The clinical staff has undergone specialized training to cater specifically to the needs of seniors, ensuring high-quality care.
Moreover, CenterWell centers offer a range of activities for seniors, including SilverSneakers fitness classes. Anitha Mullangi, M.D., the chief medical officer for CenterWell in Tennessee, emphasized the benefits of longer appointment times and integrated care teams. She stated, “By addressing seniors’ physical, social, and emotional needs, we aim to help patients lead healthier, happier lives. Our commitment to providing excellent healthcare to seniors in our communities remains unwavering.”
