According to recent J.D. Power assessments, UnitedHealthcare Vision and Dental plans have the greatest customer satisfaction among the nation’s vision and dental carriers. UnitedHealthcare’s overall vision score of 825 was the highest of the plans studied, with the company placing first in all five categories (coverage, cost, communications, customer service, and reimbursement).
- Ranks: UnitedHealthcare received the highest overall score of 806 among dental plans, including first place in four of the five main categories. Members of UnitedHealthcare’s vision and dentistry plans have benefited from a variety of data, technology, and innovation investments, including online and mobile resources that help consumers evaluate and access eye and dental services more effectively.
- Enhancements: Recent enhancements include virtual dental care resources to help people receive oral care services 24/7, along with innovative benefit designs that provide children and adults improved access to comprehensive eye exams and prescription eyewear.
- Needs: “Each individual, employer, and community we serve has unique health care needs, which requires a commitment from our entire organization to deliver great products at a fair price, with superior customer service that promotes whole-person health,” said Tom Wiffler, CEO, UnitedHealthcare Specialty Benefits. “
- Responses: The J.D. Power 2021 U.S. Vision Plan Satisfaction Report is based on responses from more than 1,110 vision plan members, while the J.D. Power 2021 U.S. Dental Plan Satisfaction Report is based on input from over 1,203 dental plan enrollees. Both reports were fielded between September through October 2021.
