Sunshine Health, a Centene Corporation wholly-owned subsidiary, is happy to announce Nathan Landsbaum’s appointment as Plan President and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Landsbaum began his career at Centene in 2005. He was most recently CEO of Home State Health, where he oversaw Centene’s Missouri market for four years.
- A leader: Landsbaum will be in charge of the integrated Florida health plan, which will cover 2.3 million people across the state with Medicaid, Marketplace, Medicare, and the Children’s Medical Services (CMS) Health Plan. The combined health plan incorporates both organizations’ best practices and innovations, providing members with more benefits and access to a broader network of physicians.
- An innovator: “Nathan is an innovative and proven leader with a track record of motivating teams, managing health plan operations, and executing on our mission to help transform the health of our members and local communities,” said Gregg MacDonald, Centene’s Senior Vice President of Markets. “His leadership will be instrumental as we work to integrate Centene’s combined plans across Florida while ensuring we continue to deliver high-quality care and services to our members across the state.”
- A planner: “Over the past four years, the Sunshine Health team has done incredible work to grow our plan and serve our members and local communities in the Sunshine State,” said Landsbaum. “I look forward to returning to Florida and leveraging the size and scope of our combined plan to better serve our members, providers, government customers, and community partners.”
- Integration: Sunshine Health is one of Florida’s largest health care plans, with offices around the state and headquarters in Broward County. Sunshine Health is altering the community’s health one person at a time by providing coordinated treatment and a network of support for its members. Sunshine Health is a completely owned subsidiary of Centene Corporation, a multi-national, diversified healthcare company.
- Service: Sunshine Health has joined the Florida health plans of WellCare Health Plan, including Staywell Health Plan and WellCare of Florida Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug Plans. The Child Welfare Specialty Plan, which serves children in or adopted from the state’s Child Welfare System, and the Staywell Specialty Health Plan, which serves persons living with serious mental illness, are two of our specialty plans.
