Aetna Better Health of Oklahoma has opposed the entry of four other private insurers to manage Oklahoma’s Medicaid program, reports said.
- Under its Medicaid program SoonerSelect, Oklahoma, in late January chose our health insurers -Blue Cross Blue Shield of Oklahoma, Humana Healthy Horizons, Oklahoma Complete Health (Centene subsidiary) and UnitedHealthcare for contracts worth $2.1 billion.
- Aetna Better Health of Oklahoma which list lost its bid to manage the program, in a 51-page protest filed Feb. 12, claimed the bid process was flawed.
- Aetan has levelled the allegation against Oklama authority of unfair evaluation of proposals, flawed scoring system to select winners, and improper review of the insurer’s entire proposal.
- Those selected will begin managing Medicaid benefits for the state Oct. 1.
