Allison Miller, Optum’s chief information security officer, was named to the board of directors for nonprofit CISO advocacy group the National Technology Security Coalition as a representative of the healthcare industry, according to a March 2 announcement.
Ms. Miller has served both UnitedHealthcare and Optum prior to her role as CISO, holding positions including chief privacy officer and director of national healthcare compliance. In addition to cybersecurity, she has also developed tools to identify gaps in patient care and improve health outcomes for those with chronic conditions.
“Healthcare is an important and vital industry across the globe, and we are privileged and honored that Allison has accepted our invitation to join the NTSC board of directors,” said Patrick Gaul, executive director at the NTSC. “Additionally, her international experience will also be of significant value as the NTSC pursues expansion into Europe [and] the PacRim over the next several years.”
Ms. Miller joins the CISOs of Aflac, Microsoft , Coca Cola, Comcast, Johnson & Johnson and more on the board.
