This initiative precedes the government’s drug price negotiation program by two years. The list of drugs includes prominent medications like Eliquis, Xarelto, and Jardiance, as reported by Axios.
SCAN’s decision to lower costs ahead of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid’s (CMS) program is rooted in their commitment to providing exceptional value to their customers. Despite potential legal challenges to the government program, SCAN’s Chief Pharmacy Officer, Sharon Jhawar, assured that their insurance plans will remain in effect as promised. Additionally, SCAN Health Plan is introducing SCAN Inspired, one of the first MA plans tailored exclusively for women. Moreover, SCAN Health Plan has partnered with ApolloMed to create a 10-year value-based care partnership named Compass. This partnership will offer a Provider Specific Plan through SCAN, catering to approximately 70% of ApolloMed’s patients, who are of Asian, Hispanic, or African American descent.
