Initially available in Los Angeles and Orange Counties, in partnership with Cedars Sinai Medical Center, SCAN Group aims to extend its Medicare Advantage plans to 22 counties across five states in 2024. SCAN Health Plan is set to introduce a Medicare Advantage plan with a strong focus on women’s health in 2024. As per an announcement on October 2nd, this new plan, known as SCAN Inspired, marks the pioneering Medicare Advantage offering tailored exclusively for women. Members enrolled in this plan will benefit from dedicated women’s health advocates, copay-free access to estrogen therapy, and an enhanced array of over-the-counter products catering to women’s health and well-being.
The SCAN Inspired plan will be initially accessible in California‘s Los Angeles and Orange Counties, established through a collaborative partnership with Cedars Sinai Medical Center based in Los Angeles. In 2024, SCAN Group plans to extend its Medicare Advantage coverage across 22 counties spanning five states. Additionally, the nonprofit insurer intends to make 13 high-cost brand-name drugs available to its members at either no cost or a nominal $11 co-payment.
It’s noteworthy that in 2022, SCAN Health Plan made history by launching the first-ever Medicare Advantage plan specifically designed to address the unique needs of LGBTQ seniors.
