Major Security Vendors Hit $1B Milestones
CrowdStrike has announced generating $1 billion in sales through the AWS Marketplace for the last calendar year alone. This impressive figure represents a 91% annual increase in global sales, with EMEA region performance improving by 48%. The cybersecurity leader has experienced significant growth in sales generated through its distribution partners on the platform.
To further capitalize on this distribution momentum, CrowdStrike recently formed a strategic agreement with Westcon-Comstor. This partnership enables the channel player to offer the Falcon platform via AWS Marketplace across Europe, providing partners with essential training and enablement to achieve authorized channel partner private offer (CPPO) status.
Strategic Collaboration Deepens AWS Relationships
The relationship between CrowdStrike and AWS has evolved into a strategic collaboration agreement. Under this partnership, AWS has adopted CrowdStrike’s Falcon platform while the security vendor has expanded its use of Amazon services.
Daniel Bernard, CrowdStrike’s chief business officer, emphasized the importance of meeting customer demand through the Marketplace while involving their channel partners: “CrowdStrike’s unprecedented traction in AWS Marketplace is a testament to our strategy and execution, aligning the CrowdStrike partner go-to-market ecosystem to leverage AWS Marketplace in driving Falcon platform adoption at scale.”
Ruba Borno, vice-president of global specialists and partners at AWS, highlighted the platform’s significance: “AWS Marketplace continues to be the go-to destination for AWS customers to procure, deploy and govern IT solutions to innovate and scale their business. CrowdStrike’s achievement of $1bn in revenue through AWS Marketplace in 2024 underscores the value of the Falcon platform in helping customers innovate faster with greater confidence in their security.”
Okta Reaches Similar AWS Achievement
Identity specialist Okta has also reached the $1 billion sales milestone on AWS Marketplace, though achieved over a four-year period rather than a single year.
“When Okta set out to redefine Identity in the cloud, we turned to AWS to build the foundation, and the results have been game-changing,” said Todd McKinnon, CEO and co-founder of Okta. “Reaching $1bn in AWS Marketplace sales marks a milestone in our collaboration. Together, we’re accelerating secure identity adoption worldwide.”
Future Growth Opportunities
Looking ahead to 2025, Okta is strengthening its AWS relationship through a new strategic collaboration agreement. This partnership will provide the identity vendor with increased backing from the cloud giant when pitching solutions to customers.
Okta expects to drive further sales growth through its expanded AI capabilities. The company has embedded AI technology into its products and integrated them with AWS services, positioning itself for increased marketplace activity this year.
Having joined the AWS Marketplace in December 2020, Okta has developed more than 25 product integrations with AWS to streamline identity and authentication processes for joint customers.
