Are you worried about WhatsApp chat getting deleted while switching to iPhone? You can breathe easy as the Meta-owned popular messaging app is planning to soon let users migrate their chat repository from Android to iOS.
- Transfer process: When you download WhatsApp on a new phone, you will be asked to transfer the chat record. You will need to keep the app open and phone unlocked during the migration process.
- Don’t skip: If you skip the process while setting up WhatsApp on a new device, you won’t be allowed to do it later. Also, you will require Apple’s Move to iOS app for completing the transfer.
- Physical connection: According to WhatsApp features tracker WABetaInfo, people will require a cable for a physical connection between Android and iOS phones just like they connect an iPhone with an Android device to migrate
their chat history. - Big relief: The new migration feature will be a big relief for people planning to change between Android phones and iPhones. Till it is launched, users will have to take the help of third-party services.
- Similar feature: Last year, WhatsApp had launched a similar feature allowing people to sync chat history from iOS to Samsung and Google Pixel devices besides Android 10 and higher platforms.
