Paddington Hub will be built on the old Imperial College Medical School site in Westminster. The facility will accommodate more than 1,800 staff, including doctors, researchers, and support teams. The building is being designed by HOK, who drew on experience from the Francis Crick Institute in King’s Cross. Paddington Hub is expected to bring significant benefits to London and the UK. The development will generate around 1,845 jobs onsite and up to 2,350 additional roles across London, including supply chain and induced employment. It will create £238 to £282 million in annual economic activity, equivalent to £2.5 to £3 billion over a decade, and £71 to £117 million in annual tax revenue, rising to £700 million to £1.2 billion over ten years. Beyond numbers, the facility will provide modern, high-quality lab-enabled space to support the growth of biomedical research and healthcare innovation across the city.

The development will create jobs and learning opportunities for people in Westminster, including 100–130 direct jobs for local residents and 50 apprenticeships and early-career positions accessible without a university degree.
