When Jing Ran returned to China in 2009 after graduating from a U.S. university, he faced a choice. Instead of pursuing a conventional career, he chose a harder path — one driven by social impact.
“Fresh out of school and full of ambition, I wanted to make a tangible contribution,” said the young entrepreneur from Taiwan.
Most graduates at that stage look for stable jobs. Jing, however, looked for meaning. That distinction would define everything that followed.
2. Six Months, One Mission
Rather than rushing into action, Jing spent the next six months traveling across China. He moved through cities, towns, and rural communities — observing how people lived, aged, and struggled. His journey took him from Manzhouli in Inner Mongolia to the southernmost tip of Hainan. Eventually, he traveled westward to Shangri-La in Yunnan.
What He Discovered
Throughout this journey, a clear problem emerged. Elderly citizens across China faced limited access to dignified, high-quality care. Many families lacked the resources, infrastructure, or support to manage aging well. Furthermore, existing solutions focused on basic needs rather than on quality of life.
This gap troubled Jing deeply. As a result, he shifted his focus entirely toward elder care — and began building a bold new vision.
3. Founding Time Light Care Group
After completing his travels, Jing founded Time Light Care Group — a company dedicated to innovative elderly care solutions. His mission was clear: transform aging from a period of limitation into one of dignity, autonomy, and joy.

One of the company’s most notable achievements is a hospital shuttle equipped with a detachable smart seat. This single product addresses one of the most common barriers elderly patients face: getting from a vehicle into a hospital independently.
How the Smart Seat Works
The technology is both practical and elegant. With a press of a button, the seat slides out of the vehicle. It then gently rotates and lowers to ground level. After that, it detaches completely and converts into a compact electric wheelchair.
As a result, users can enter hospitals independently — without physical strain and without relying on others for assistance. For many elderly people, this kind of autonomy is transformative.
Why It Matters
Previously, simple medical visits created enormous logistical and physical challenges for elderly patients and their families.
