RaySearch Laboratories AB is expanding its collaboration with P-Cure, a proton therapy provider, to integrate its RayStation and RayCare systems with P-Cure’s proton therapy system. This partnership enables seamless use of RaySearch’s automation, workflow support, and adaptive radiation therapy features for users of the P-Cure system. P-Cure’s compact proton therapy solution, recently FDA-cleared, reduces costs and widens access to proton therapy for cancer treatment. RaySearch, based in Stockholm, Sweden, is a medical technology company known for innovative cancer treatment software solutions used in over 900 clinics across 40 countries.
RaySearch Laboratories AB has announced an expanded collaboration with P-Cure, a provider of proton therapy. This collaboration aims to enhance the workflow efficiency of P-Cure’s proton therapy system by integrating it with RaySearch’s systems, RayStation and RayCare.
The extended partnership will enable users of the P-Cure proton therapy system to seamlessly utilize RayStation and RayCare in an integrated environment. This development, as stated in an October 1 announcement by RaySearch, is particularly noteworthy because the P-Cure system, a gantry-less seated proton system designed to fit within linac vaults, has recently received FDA clearance. It is currently in clinical use at the Hadassah Medical Center in Jerusalem, the sole proton facility in the Middle East, for the treatment of CNS, head and neck, thoracic, and pancreatic malignancies.
This collaboration builds upon the existing relationship between the two companies, which has already seen the integration of RayStation in a study conducted at the P-Cure clinical development center, operated by the Hadassah Medical Center. According to the official statement on this collaboration, users of the P-Cure proton therapy system will now have access to the automation and workflow support offered by RayCare, as well as the adaptive radiation therapy features available in the RaySearch systems.
