NUS Medicine has partnered with GigXR to introduce a cutting-edge holographic mixed reality (MR) training module for acute gastrointestinal disease diagnosis and treatment. Fujitsu and Toppan have joined forces to offer advanced big data analysis services, leveraging anonymized Electronic Medical Records (EMR) data. NalaGenetics has joined Indonesia’s Biomedical and Genome Science Initiative (BGSi) to provide expert sequencing and bioinformatics support for precision medicine through genomics. Apollo Spectra Hospitals in India has launched tele-ICU services in collaboration with HealthNet Global, connecting its ICU to the Apollo Hyderabad Command Centre via telemedicine.
The Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine at the National University of Singapore (NUS Medicine) has partnered with GigXR, a California-based holographic healthcare training provider, to unveil an innovative mixed reality (MR) training module focused on acute gastrointestinal disease diagnosis and treatment.
GigXR’s HoloScenarios: Gastrointestinal module, available on the Gig Immersive Learning Platform, offers a holographic simulation of a clinical environment, complete with patients, medical equipment, instructors, and learners. This cutting-edge module will provide realistic scenarios covering various gastrointestinal conditions, including gastrointestinal bleeding, intestinal obstruction, and chronic liver failure, addressing complex and potentially critical situations.
This groundbreaking module, scheduled for launch next year, is the result of a collaboration between NUS Medicine’s GI surgery experts and holographic medical training specialists. NUS Medicine has been leveraging holographic technology to enhance medical education as part of Project Polaris in partnership with Microsoft since the previous year.
Fujitsu and Toppan Join Forces for Advanced Big Data Analysis
Two prominent Japanese companies, Fujitsu and Toppan, have formed a strategic alliance to offer advanced big data analysis services catering to healthcare organizations and pharmaceutical companies.
According to an official statement, Toppan will merge its analytical proficiency with Fujitsu’s data cleansing capabilities to introduce Software as a Service (SaaS) analytics services, making use of anonymized Electronic Medical Records (EMR) data.
As part of this collaboration, both firms will also collect additional data, such as discharge summaries, nursing records, and surgical records, in addition to EMR data, from partnering medical institutions and the Japan Medical Association Medical Information Management Organization (J-MIMO). This data will bolster their database for comprehensive big data analysis.
NalaGenetics Joins Indonesia’s National Genomics Program
Biotechnology company NalaGenetics has become the latest addition to Indonesia’s Biomedical and Genome Science Initiative (BGSi).
According to a press release, NalaGenetics will contribute expert sequencing and bioinformatics support to BGSi’s mission of advancing precision medicine through genomics.
NalaGenetics will now collaborate with DNA data firm Asa Ren, alongside their AI partner G42, in support of Indonesia’s national genomics program.
Apollo Spectra Launches Tele-ICU Services
Apollo Spectra Hospitals, a multispecialty surgical provider within the Apollo Group in India, has introduced critical care services through telemedicine.
HealthNet Global (HNG), also a part of the Apollo Group, played a crucial role in launching this new tele-ICU program. It connects Apollo Spectra’s ICU facilities to the Apollo Hyderabad Command Centre using the HNG telemedicine platform.
