Elderly care coordination company Avanlee Care has joined forces with Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company (MCCPDC) to integrate affordable medication services into its Ava app. This partnership offers caregivers a comprehensive platform for managing eldercare, while care recipients can track medications and access additional features. MCCPDC has been actively collaborating with various healthcare organizations, providing cost-effective alternatives for conditions like COPD and partnering with insurers for direct access. Mark Cuban, MCCPDC’s co-founder, emphasizes their shared mission of reducing medication costs for family caregivers and care recipients.
Avanlee Care, a company specializing in eldercare coordination, has announced a strategic partnership with Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drug Company (MCCPDC) to integrate their affordable medication services into the Ava app. This collaboration aims to enhance resources for both caregivers and care recipients.
Launched in 2021, Avanlee’s Ava app seeks to revolutionize eldercare technology by consolidating essential tools and services in one convenient platform for unpaid family caregivers. The app empowers caregivers by offering self-care management tools, access to training and skill development resources, remote monitoring capabilities for aging parents, and the ability to create personalized support teams.
For those in need of care, the Ava app provides features to track medication usage, monitor biometric data, and schedule events. Additionally, users can shop and arrange deliveries from Walmart through a partnership established last year.
Through this new partnership, Avanlee Care’s users will gain access to Mark Cuban’s online pharmacy services directly through the Ava app.
Mark Cuban, the co-founder of Cost Plus Drug Company, expressed his support for the collaboration, stating, “The healthcare industry needs Avanlee Care’s app, Ava. We share a common mission: to provide lower costs on prescribed medications, saving money for the unpaid family caregiver and their loved one, the care-receiver.”
Notably, MCCPDC has forged several partnerships since its launch in January of the previous year. These collaborations include working with multinational pharmaceutical company Lupin Limited and the COPD Foundation to improve access to Tiotropium Bromide, an inhalation powder for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) in the United States. Additionally, MCCPDC has partnered with Select Health and its pharmacy benefits manager, Scripius, to offer direct access to its services for health plan members.
In June, MCCPDC joined forces with Coherus Biosciences to offer Yusimry, a more affordable biosimilar version of the popular drug Humira. Yusimry treats conditions such as Crohn’s disease, psoriatic arthritis, ulcerative colitis, rheumatoid arthritis, and more.
Mark Cuban expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership with Coherus, stating, “Coherus’s Yusimry is a game changer. Having an alternative to Humira that is affordable will improve the lives of patients everywhere.”
MCCPDC has also collaborated with various healthcare organizations, including Latino care virtual healthcare service Zócalo Health, EmsanaRx in California, RxPreferred Benefits in Tennessee, Diathrive Health specializing in diabetes and chronic disease management, and OncoPower, a cancer care support company.
Furthermore, MCCPDC announced its first health plan partnership with Capital Blue Cross, enabling Capital’s members to use their insurance cards directly at MCCPDC for convenient access to affordable medications.
